Strength through diversity and inclusion
Together – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Save-On-Foods
Our formal Diversity and Inclusion initiatives began in 2014 with the Inspire Network. We embarked on this program because we believe our teams should be representative of our customers and our communities in all areas of the company.
Through our initiatives, we aim to:
- Enable a strong company through a culture where everyone is equally valued and respected.
- Support our leadership pipeline by fostering equality, diversity of thought, gender, skill, culture, experience, and age.
- Encourage and support those who want to make a difference and drive change.
- Empower those who want to take ownership of their careers and have the courage and desire to take on a leadership role.
More recently, we’ve shifted to the Together initiative, which prioritizes participation in developing and sharing resources on diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels. Our Together program is driven by a working group of interested and passionate team members, with a quarterly focus on topics, issues, and resources that are helpful in work and day-to-day life.
We’re proud to join many other organizations as a partner in 2024 with the Canadian Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Through this partnership, we’re able to share these resources with our team members with the goal of creating a more inclusive environment.
We’re thrilled that Save-On-Foods women have been recognized every year since its inception as Star Women in Grocery by Canadian Grocer — which acknowledges the remarkable achievements of women working in the grocery industry.
